Das Einfamilienwohnhaus in Bad Saarow bei Berlin entsteht auf einem kleinen Grundstück am Waldrand für die Familie Dr. Merschin. Ein besonderer Wunsch für das Haus waren die Fledermausgauben. Die schwungvollen Linien dieser Gauben wurde an anderen Stellen des Baukörpers aufgegriffen, um dieses Thema vom Dach im gesamten Erscheinungbild des Hauses wiederkehren zu lassen. Auf der Nordseite ist ein hofartiger Vorplatz ausgebildet. Das Haus wird über eine Diele mit Gallerie betreten, wobei der Blick auf den zentralen Kamin als Anker des häuslichen Familienlebens fällt. Um diesen Block herum fließen frei offene Wohnräume. Eine große verglaste Front nach Süden öffnet den Blick auf den Garten. Im Arrangement wurden Aspekte der chinesischen Feng-Shui Lehre aufgenommen.
The home for the Family Dr. Merschin in Bad Saarow, nearby Berlin, will be built on a small lot of land at the skirts of a forest. The cowl shaped dormer windows on the top roof were a special wish for the house. Their zestfully curved lines reappear in different elements of the building in order to integrate the theme of the roof into the entirety of the house. On the north side of the house, the layout forms a little courtyards. From there the house is entered through a double height vestibule with gallery. A solid fireplace catches the view. It serves as the anchor of the home family live. Around this central block open space flows. The large glass front towards the south opens into the garden. The arrangements in the house follow aspects of Chinese Feng-Shui teaching.
