Two generations of architects are at the service of your project. The office was established by Helmut H. Schumann in 1994. 2010, his son, the architect Christoph Schumann joined the family business.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
ARTS – HANDS – WORKS these three words encompass our design philosophy. ARCHITEKTEN SCHUMANN develop clear-cut functional but artistically elaborate projects. Our design does not shy at ornaments and our buildings offer display to feature other arts. Our approach has the craftsman in mind. We support our client to take part in the construction and were needed we are hands on. Design and Construction are one unit to us. Studio and building site are our work shop.

WORK METHODS
We explore carefully the wishes and objectives of our clients and put them at the beginning of our design work. Throughout the planning, we employ a number of methods to reconfirm design decisions and to discuss them with our clients. Precise and clear depictions of the planning assures an effective communication – not only between our studio and the client but for all involved in the project.
PROGRAMMING
Learning about your Project
Before planning we want to understand. We explore with you the patterns of your daily life, we learn about your wishes for the project and define together the goal.
A felicitous building is a spatial image of its internal processes. In business, operation charts and information flow are of first interest. We analyze as a team the requirements, the potential and development perspective of your project and enhance everybody's understanding of the objective.
The conjointly collected knowledge about the project is continuously grouped and visualized. The display of information creates project perseverance and target precision. The planning is embedded in a continuous communication process. The inclusion of decision makers and users activates a vast creativity potential and provides to everybody a broad understanding for the project.
MODEL MAKING
Design on the Modell - In-live Design
We work with modells. The architecture modell explains spatial relations and qualities. Our design decisions are tested in working modells. We appreciate a clean and sober choice in modell materials.
Architecture modells are the most impressive way to illustrate a future reality. For all involved, modells deepen the understanding of a project. Modelling is a perfect facilitator in communication.
Modells show us the goal. They are motivation during the project and inspire all parties to contribute in its success.
3D-LAB
Renderings and Animations
Computer generated images are part of our tool kit. We make use of the imaging to represent the plannings in an early stage. The images serve for communication among the partners and help to achieve clarity about details.
Computer models make it easy to perceive a project and to exchange information. They turn our planning into comprehensive volumes and visualize ideas for everybody. We use the images not only for the final presentation but as a design tool as we go.
FACE-TIME
Talk in Person
We take time to talk with our clients. We seek a detailed conversation and a trusting exchange about all aspects of a project, not only during the planning but throughout the execution.
Strong presence on site assures that implementation goes as planned. The personal exchange advances the work process and helps to solve questions when they appear.
Our approach: An additional visit on site avoids delays and excessive paperwork.
